About Nicole
Nicole Barnes, owner of Wild Thyme, has been in the floristry business for over 30 years. During this time Nicole has built a fine reputation for her innovative floristry style, intuitive flair, expertise and reliability – while taking an individual approach to each client.
After training at Southwark College and passing 3 yearly stages of City & Guilds Floristry Examinations achieving ‘distinction’ grades in each year, she embarked on two further years of study – resulting in the National Society of Floristry Diploma NDSF.
After her extensive training, Nicole went on to manage a chain of florists in Berkshire and created designs for clients including Bruce Forsyth, Ringo Starr and Royal Ascot racecourse. Nicole then opened her very own shop, Wild Thyme, in Guildford in 1986.
Nicole’s shop combined her beautiful floral arrangements with curious vintage items and was renowned for stunning, seasonal window displays. The shop became Guildford’s longest standing florist and was much respected by its residents.
In 2015 Nicole moved Wild Thyme to a studio just outside of Guildford so she could have the freedom to specialise in wedding, sympathy and occasion flowers and spend more time meeting with her clients in their homes and venues to create the very best bespoke flower designs.
Whether you are looking for stunning flowers for your wedding, a truly special tribute to a loved one, a breath-taking design for an event or would simply like to learn the art of flower arranging – contact Nicole who will always offer her inimitable expertise and excellent customer care.
